Today I stopped by the center for the first time in 30 years. You have done a great job keeping the character and making this accessible to youth. I saw a number of kids in the shop today experiencing musical instruments. It took me back. 30 years ago you inspired me to start hand carving guitars out of maple. I still do that as a hobby. Thanks for continuing to inspire kids.
Henry, my brother, thanks so much for your outstanding job on my '58 Gibson Masterton Archtop 5-string banjo. The fret job is outstanding and the notes are ringing clearly and accurately across the fingerboard. As always, I appreciate your skill as well as integrity. All your work on my banjos and on my Martin guitar has been outstanding. Just keep being you. God Bless you, Henry.
I bought my first bodhran at the Folk Music Center in 1997. Within ten years I was doing studio sessions and touring regionally with two dance bands. Now, music is a major part of my life. And, it wouldn't have happened without the FMC's commitment to stocking instruments that aren't simply unusual but also high quality.
Hats off to y'all!
